Loud noises, busy homes, kids, and especially men make me want to run and hide. I spent most of my time curled up in a cozy hiding spot, and that’s where I feel safest right now. But with calm, gentle people (like my previous female owner), I can relax and let my sweet side show. I’m not a lap cat, and I’m not interested in being picked up. But when I decide it’s the right moment, I do enjoy soft pets… right up until I politely trot away to let you know I’m finished. I’ve lived inside my whole life and prefer it that way. One thing you should know: once I feel comfortable, I can be truly loving in my own quiet way. I also lived with another cat and did very well — a calm feline friend could help me feel braver. I’m looking for a peaceful forever home with someone who understands that trust takes time. The Windsor/Essex County Humane Society was founded in 1926 and incorporated in 1949. The Humane Society has a publicly-tendered contract with the City of Windsor to provide animal control and basic shelter services in the City. This is only a portion of the work done by our organization. In 2016 almost 12,000 animal came through the doors of our shelter and spay/neuter clinic. We can’t help them without your support.
