Here's what the humans have to say about me:
LOOKING FOR FOSTER OR FOSTER TO ADOPT!
** We have too many dogs sitting in kennels when they so deserve to be in homes. With no space left on site, we are extremely overwhelmed with the amount of work on us without help from fosters. Sinatra is not a hard dog; he is wonderful and is only dog selective, yet has not had 1 person give him a chance.
Mister Ole blue eyes himself, Sinatra has been with us for a few months and so desperately needs a foster to get out of the kennel environment. We pulled this boy from a local shelter because when we met him, we know he deserved a family of his own, since his “family” dumped him in a parking lot. He has eyes that will suck you in, and make you fall so in love with him, just like we did!
This boy is just such a loving guy, not only is he super playful and sweet but he's a Velcro dog too! Loves to be near his person and will follow you everywhere. Once he trusts you, which you will have to work for, but once he does, man he opens up and will do anything you ask of him. Super obedient and super respectful dog.
Name: Sinatra aka Sinny, Ole blue
Location of dog: Simcoe, Norfolk County
Breed: Mixed breed
Weight: approx. 65lbs
Gender: Male
Spayed/Neutered: Yes
Age: Approx 2 years old
Energy Level: Medium
Medical (shots etc): UTD
Microchipped: Yes
Good with dogs: extremely dog selective. Has barrier aggression with dogs while in his kennel and if on a tie out. But on a leash seems to be more playful and more dog friendly. He doesn't have a specific dog characteristic he dislikes or likes in other dogs. He just knows who he likes and doesn't like. Has been ok with some males and some female dogs. But has been reactive to some as well. No guarantees if he would be besties with another dog, but we definitely see potential if with an experienced dog handler who can do slow and proper intros with another dog.
Good with cats: unsure not tested
Good with kids: tested with kids 10 plus. I don't see any aggression towards younger kids in him, but would feel better knowing he's not around kids under 10. Too many people live young kids unsupervised with dogs.
Good with strangers: barks at first but tail Wagging and proper intro he's all over you!
Guarding Issues: No
House Trained: Yes, but will have accidents in his kennel now and then if not taken out often.
Crate Trained: unsure, only has been in a kennel. Could be trained to use a crate though.
Destructive: No, only his stuffies, he needs to get that squeaker lol
Leash skills: good, pulls a bit when excited or wants to play with another dog, but easily corrected.
Okay with manipulations: yes, loves treats and aims to people please
Known commands: sit, stay, enough (when he barks). If someone put time into learning new commands, he would excel for sure, he is a smart boy and wants nothing more than to please his people!
Behaviour Issues: has some anxiety coming from the shelter. Mostly when alone or away from his people. Manageable if you are patient and willing to work through it. He gets calming treats at night to help him.
Medical issues: None
Other Observations: Sinatra, is a great dog with amazing potential. I wouldn't suggest a beginner dog owner, as he needs someone with patience and time to earn his trust and help him adjust to a new environment and home. He does have anxiety but with the right person, completely manageable. Will need an active family, he needs exercise, stimulation and boundaries. Will need some decompression time, as he went from a shelter to a kennel here. A family who will not rush him through decompression and a family who will stay committed to him, is exactly what this boy deserves.
Sinatra will make an amazing family dog and will be loyal and love his people unconditionally. His blues eyes just melt your soul and you can see in his eyes, just how sweet he truly is.
We don't know he's past, but I can tell it wasn't a good one. He does flinch at some movements at times, and is unsure of new situations but is always willing to face them with his person.
I promise you, you give this handsome guy a chance and really invest yourself into him, he will be a great dog and a great best friend!
Reason for Surrender or transfer: local shelter transfer. Was found as a stray in the Burlington costco parking lot. To the SOB who dumped him at the Burlington Costco, shame on you. Karma will come for you, I promise! You didn't deserve his loyalty and love. He didn't lose out, you lost out on an amazing loving dog!

At F.A.B.R Canine Rehabilitation Therapy and Sanctuary, we are dedicated to giving a second chance to the dogs the world often overlooks. We specialize in taking in the misunderstood—the ones deemed “too difficult,” “too aggressive,” or simply “not worth the effort.” With careful behavioral assessments and tailored rehabilitation programs, we work to uncover the true potential in every dog, especially bully breeds and large power breeds, who are so often misjudged. These dogs are not the monsters they’re made out to be; they are victims of neglect, misunderstanding, and mistreatment. Through love, structure, and unwavering support, we’ve successfully rehomed countless dogs who were once dumped, surrendered, or abandoned—each one now thriving in homes that understand and appreciate them. At the heart of our mission is a commitment to education—we strive to reach anyone who is willing to learn and listen, breaking down harmful stereotypes and replacing them with compassion and knowledge. FABR is powered by a passionate community of supporters who share our belief that every dog deserves the chance to be seen, heard, and loved for who they truly are.
