My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there, I'm Foxy. Life in the shelter is safe, but I'm eager for more. I've got a curious mind that loves to explore. My heart is gentle and sweet, and I've got loyalty in spades, too. I'm always the first to greet the shelter staff each morning. But what I really want is a family of my own. Why should you adopt me? Well, my smarts, sweetness, gentleness, curiosity, and loyalty make me a one-of-a-kind companion. I promise, you won't regret it.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1971 as the Animal Aid Society of Englewood, Suncoast Humane Society began with a few cages where people left stray animals to be cared for. Over the years, our service area has grown to include over 400 square miles, covering three counties: Sarasota, Charlotte and portions of Lee.
Suncoast Humane Society provides a safe refuge for thousands of lost, abandoned and abused animals from our service area each year. We are committed to our open-door policy of never turning any animal away, regardless of health, temperament, breed or circumstances.
