My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rocky is the goofiest freaking boy you’ll ever meet.

He spends most of his time scooby-doo-running, bouncing around, trying to get anyone and everyone to play. You cannot stop smiling when he’s around.

Rocky was one of the #embankmentmals that we got as a very young puppy.

He was slightly feral when we got him and it was a long, slow road to building his trust in humans, but he absolutely loves them now!

Rocky can still be a little hesitant with new people, but he’s a walk-away from them type, NOT aggressive in the least bit.

Rocky loves other dogs and would absolutely THRIVE in a home with at least one other social, playful, confident dog.

Rocky has met the cats and is interested in them, but while supervised, all he wanted to do was play with them. We would recommend still supervising any interaction with cats.

Rocky is a young, mischievous Malinois, so kids 12+ would probably be best. He’s not aggressive whatsoever, he’s just a young herding-breed dog.

Rocky LOVES water! So much so, he will even use his water bucket as a splash-pool. We highly recommend an adopter be willing to provide him with a kiddie-pool to play in!

He would love to find an adopter who will continue building his confidence, taking him on every adventure and letting him be his goofy self.

He is crate-trained, started in basic obedience, and walks well on a leash.

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

If you see a pet you’re interested in or you don’t but you would like to adopt from our organization anyway, please fill out an application!

2.

Meet the Pet

We set up first meet and greets in a public location for you to get to know the dog(s) you’re interested in.

3.

Meet the Pet

We do require a second meet and greet, which also helps if you’re torn between multiples! We encourage you to meet at least 2 dogs!

4.

Home Check

If the home check is goes well and everyone is still confident, the contract is signed, fee paid and your new dog can stay that day!

More about this rescue

We are long-time animal lovers working hard to reduce the number of euthanized dogs in shelters. Our ultimate goal is to house and employ veterans, teach them how to prepare a dog for adoption and should they wish, reach them to run a successful rescue so they may take our model and open one anywhere there’s a need of Veterans and K9’s alike!
