My story

Hi there - my name is Zaro! I have one of the cutest faces that you've ever seen with a strong chin that looks like I may have some Persian genes. I look at my humans with big round eyes so they'll give me lots of pets & love which turns on my purr motor because it feels so good. I came to CAWS after being found by a nice couple that wanted to keep me & even took me to their vet. I tested positive for FIV, which really isn't a big deal, but they had indoor/outdoor cats & I need to be an indoor only boy. I had to had all of my teeth pulled so I'm no risk to other cats to transfer FIV through a bite. I will happily be you only cat or can join another nice cat that you already have in your home. Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.
