My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dodger is a rough, tri-colored male. He is 8 years old, but will turn 9 in May. His date of birth is May 1997. Dodger is obedience trained and very playful. He is not showing any signs of slowing down due to age or arthritis. He was raised with children all his life, and is good with kids. We are not sure how he is with cats. He has been an only dog all of his life, except during foster care. He did show signs of dominance over the other dogs at first, but quickly settled in to playing very nicely with them. A home with another dog or two that are in his size range is ok.

Dodger weighs about 78 lbs. He is house trained and would be a wonderful family house dog. He barks when he hears the lawn mower, but stops immediately when told "no bark". Other than that he is not problem barker.

Dodger came into rescue because his owner (Dad) passed away, and then his Mom and kids had to move to another state and could not take him. Dodger was then adopted through us (NCR) but this did not work out because they had several desert tortoises and Dodger was too interested in them, and hisadopters were afraid he might harm them accidentally.

Dodger is a very smart and sweet, loving collie. He would like a home that is active. He loves to travel in the car and visit places where he can run off leash. He walks very well on a leash as well. New - 04.27.06
