My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Name: Peter Pawker
Good with kids: Older, quiet and respectful cat friendly kids
Good with dogs: Unknown
Good with cats: Yes - would prefer a feline friend
Housebroken: Yes

Peter Pawker came to us through Animal Control as a very shy boy. He`s gotten better since meeting cat friends but he is still very shy. He spends most of his days hiding under blankets and keeping his distance from the commotion of visitors. He`ll flourish in a low traffic household. He would do best with a confident cat in the household to help him come out of his shell. He loves wet food so that helps so much with socializing him! He truly is a sweet boy who just likes to keep to himself. We do think once he finally gets into a home of his own, he`ll show just how sweet he is!

More about this shelter

The Aberdeen Area Humane Society serves the northern South Dakota and southern North Dakota area. We are here in the interests of animal welfare. We place homeless animals into good homes as well as rescue animals from abusive situations. We have a shelter facility just southwest of Aberdeen and house many animals while we try to find them good homes. We are a non-profit organization and are funded by memberships, donations, fundraisers and adoptions.

If you suspect an animal is being mistreated and/or abused, contact us. We will investigate or refer to the appropriate agency. Your call can be kept confidential and we will handle the rest.
