My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Lucinda – Your Future Furry Soulmate 💕🐾

Lucinda isn’t just a cat—she’s a queen in a soft fur coat, ready to rule your heart (and maybe your windowsill). This elegant lady has mastered the art of lounging, bird-watching, and giving the slow blink of love.

About Lucinda:
Age: 7
Personality: Gentle, affectionate, and full of quiet charm
Favorite hobbies: Sunbathing, head scritches, and snoozing in the comfiest of beds

Gets along with other cats, but largely prefers to have quiet time.
Lucinda is looking for a calm, loving home where she can curl up beside you and remind you to slow down and enjoy the little things. She’s got a soft purr, a big heart, and a whole lot of love to give.

More about this shelter

The Allegany County Animal Shelter serves as the municipal shelter for Allegany County and is located at 716 Furnace Street in Cumberland. For many years, the shelter served as the final destination for nearly 85% of the animals that entered it. In late 2010, a group of passionate citizens led the charge to change the nature of the shelter with a goal of doing as much as possible for every animal, every day. It was the first step on the journey to becoming A Shelter of Hope.
