My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Please contact Thomas (Tom06661@live.com) for more information about this pet.

Zeke’s foster parents are covering half of Zeke's Adoption Fee!

This special kitty soul is our Zekey boy. Zeke has had a rough life and will need a very special soul to give him the love and care that he will need. Zeke still finds ways to give love; he is one of the sweetest cats we have ever come across even after all he has been through. He loves to give head bumps when he is in a good mood and wants pets. He still finds joy in playing with toys and he LOVES scratcher poles.

Zeke was rescued from a blighted section of Harrisburg's inner city. When his caretaker turned foster mom discovered he was struggling to eat his wet food they took him for care. The veterinarian determined it was stomatitis and decided that Zeke would have to have dental surgery and all his teeth were extracted. He has since fully recovered and back to comfortably eating wet food again with us. His stomatitis can flare up hurt his gums when he eats, and it does affect how much he eats.

Zeke is a sweet and gentle older soul who has had a rough life. He was previously adopted twice but was returned to us both times due to his medical issues. After that he was bullied by other cats at one of our sponsored foster locations before he came to stay with us as our foster. He does not seem to get along with other cats because of this. He would thrive in a house by himself or with other docile older cats that would not bother him.

He would love a home of his own where he can spend his days lounging on top of a couch or in a warm sunbeam. He LOVES lounging in the sun or window or chair and LOVES watching the birds.

The Vet believes that Zeke's blood work shows he COULD BE at risk of developing kidney disease. This affects his energy levels, so he tends to sleep a lot and is mostly active at night. Zeke's foster family is willing to supply a substantial amount of kidney care wet food when he goes to his forever home to help his adopter get started with giving him the adequate care he will need as he gets older. Despite all this, Zeke STILL finds ways to give love and affection, he loves to rub up against you and absolutely melts when you pick him up and nuzzle and hold him, once he gets to know you, he will sit in your lap and sleep for hours. His purrs means so much more because of all that he has been through, when he turns into a purr box and is happy and content it is enough to melt your heart.

If you have any questions about Zeke please feel free to reach out to his foster parents Tom & Gabby at Tom06661@live.com

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

All of our animals are in foster care so please complete an application at our website (www.castawaycritters.org) before meeting them. Completing an application does not obligate you to adopt; however, it is required. Applications are processed in the order received in an effort to find the best match possible for both the dog and the adopter.

Please also check out our events page on our website as fosters sometimes bring their available animals out to meet people!
