Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Ruby loves to cuddle! She is house trained, loves food but never counter- surfs, is crate trained, and does not chew on anything that isn’t hers. She loves her toys, plays fun games like “Find It” and has shown her smarts with puzzle toys. Ruby knows Sit, Wait, Down, Bed, Crawl, and When her fosters are out of the house, she is great in her crate and will even put herself in it when she knows they are getting ready to go out. When the sun shines, her favorite place is lounging on her bed in a sunny window. Ruby is a great snuggler!
Her sturdiness and play style might not mesh with little children, but older kids are great. She recently spent some time with an 11-year-old and loved him! Her fosters say “She is so goofy! She keeps us laughing with her silly antics. She has brought home a couple of very large sticks (like 5 feet long) and enjoys chasing them, chewing on them, and sometimes just parading them around.“
Ruby is 3 years old and weighs 60 pounds. If you are looking for a smart, funny, affectionate buddy who is happy to cuddle at home or join you on outdoor adventuring, please contact us at redwoodplasrescue@gmail.com or leave a voicemail at (707) 633-8842.

More about this rescue
Redwood Pals Rescue was formed to keep the euthanasia rate low at our local county shelter which is a kill facility. We are an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to support rescue and adoption efforts of animals that are at risk in the Humboldt County Animal Shelter.
Some of the things we do:
* rescue animals in danger of being euthanized at the Humboldt County Animal Shelter
* place rescued animals into permanent adoptive homes;
* facilitate transportation of rescue animals to out-of-area rescue organizations, fosterers, and adoptive homes;
* train/rehabilitate rescue animals to facilitate their placement into permanent adoptive homes;
* to provide temporary foster of shelter animals with medical needs to facilitate their placement into permanent adoptive homes;
* provide educational outreach to promote the adoption of shelter and rescue animals as pets;
* improve the quality of life for animals at the Humboldt County Animal Shelter;
* encourage and facilitate proper veterinary care including vaccinations, spaying and neutering;
We always need: Donations! which can be sent to our P.O. Box or through Razoo. Fosters! We do not have a shelter of our own but instead rely on kennel space for our rescue dogs at the shelter (when it isn't full) or with our network of foster homes. We sometimes have to emergency board dogs to save their lives. We would rather have them in a foster home. Volunteers! if you are interested in volunteering let us know. We are a small group and could always use more help.
