My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Stella is a 1.5-year-old female German Shepherd/Great Pyrenees mix who is truly beautiful, majestic, and elegant. With her soft, silky fur, lean build, and gentle eyes, she has the look of a perfect lady—and a heart just as lovely to match.

Stella can be a little wary of strangers at first, but she’s gaining confidence every day. She simply needs a bit of time and patience to build trust. Once she does, she reveals her true self: a total sweetheart who adores quiet companionship and gentle affection. She loves laying on the floor in front of you for pets or sitting right beside you, soaking up your presence and love.

Because Stella can be a bit skittish, sudden movements and loud noises may startle her. When she feels unsure, she looks to the people she trusts for comfort and reassurance, forming a strong and meaningful bond with her humans.

Stella does well with other dogs, as long as they respect her space and boundaries. She enjoys playing, but prefers it to be on her own terms. She also does well with cats and kids, making her a wonderful fit for many types of families.

She is fully potty-trained and crate-trained, and her kennel is her safe space. Stella does have some separation anxiety, but she is already working through it and has shown great potential to continue improving with consistency and support.

Stella would thrive in a home filled with patience, kindness, and understanding—one that will allow her the time she needs to feel safe and loved. In return, she will blossom into the most loyal and affectionate companion. If you’re ready to help this beautiful girl become her best self, Stella may be the perfect addition to your family.

More about this shelter

We are a non-profit organization out of Monticello, IA specializing in the care for dogs and cats that need us. Our care does not stay local, as we take transports from all over the United States, and adopt all over as well!

Our mission's primary focus is to help reduce the homeless pet population by finding homes for spayed/neutered pets, and helping educate WHY this process is so important, and the proper way to care for pets!
