My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Chucky needs a foster or adopter! 🙏🏼

Chucky is a friendly, goofy, and high-energy mix of purebred beagle and English bulldog (confirmed by DNA test). His sisters and parents have all found amazing homes, and now it’s his turn.

He’s a strong little guy with a stubborn streak, so he’ll do best in a home that offers structure, patience, and consistency. He absolutely loves water—sprinklers, puddles, pools, you name it. If he could fit in a water bowl, he’d probably lay in it.

Chucky is currently working with a wonderful trainer, and we’re happy to continue with in-person or remote sessions as long as the adopter is committed. He is very much a teenager packed with energy in a compact body.

The good news is that once he grows out of his puppy phase, he’s likely to become a lazy, snuggly couch potato. Both beagles and bulldogs tend to mellow out and enjoy the good life as they get older, and that’s definitely where he’s headed.

If you think you’re the right fit for this lovable boy, please reach out. We’d love to schedule a meet-and-greet before his foster family heads out.

Additional adoption info

Beagles make wonderful pets. They are friendly, medium sized, highly social animals. They are considered one of the most family-friendly breeds. Beagles are intelligent but, as a result of being bred for the long chase, are single-minded and determined, which can make them hard to train. They can be difficult to recall once they have picked up a scent, and are easily distracted by smells around them.

Beagles love to play and do require more exercise than some other breeds and in most cases are considered moderate to highly active between puppyhood to about 3 years old. After they turn 3, beagles tend to "mature" and become couch potatoes! Exercise is “key” to having a happy and healthy dog. Keep in mind as beagles get older they tend to gain weight.
