My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Gus – Your Next Best Friend and Adventure Buddy

Gus is a gentle giant with a heart full of love and a head full of tennis balls—seriously, he can’t get enough of them! This big boy lives for the simple joys in life: a good game of fetch, a quiet walk in the woods, and plenty of cozy naps in the sun. While his size might be the first thing you notice, it’s his calm, soulful nature that truly makes him stand out.

Gus came to us overweight and a little out of shape, but with a proper diet, regular exercise, and lots of encouragement, he’s made an incredible transformation. Now leaner, stronger, and healthier than ever, Gus is ready to hit the trails and is always up for a hike—especially if it ends with a snack and some cuddle time.

Gus is looking for a home where he can be the only pet. He values his space and the serenity of a peaceful home, and he thrives in a calm environment where he can fully relax and be himself. While he enjoys human companionship, he doesn’t demand constant attention—he’s happy just being near you, especially if you`re throwing a tennis ball or two his way.

If you’re seeking a loyal, laid-back companion who’s equally happy lounging on the porch or exploring the forests of Maine, Gus might just be your perfect match. He’s come a long way on his journey to health and happiness, and now all he needs is a forever home where he can continue that journey—with you.
