Introducing Casper! This lovable pit mix is on the lookout for his forever home after being adopted as a puppy and experiencing the joys of family life. Sadly, due to a family member's allergies, Casper needs to find a new home where he can continue to thrive and bring joy to his human companions.
Casper is an energetic and playful dog who is full of life and enthusiasm. Having grown up in a loving environment, he is accustomed to being part of a family and has been socialized well. He has attended obedience classes, where he developed foundational skills, but he will benefit from a committed owner who can help him refine those skills and provide him with the guidance he needs. Casper thrives on interaction and engagement, making him an ideal companion for someone who enjoys an active lifestyle.
Casper loves to play and is always ready for fun! He participates in playgroups with other dogs and does well, showcasing his friendly nature and ability to socialize. His youthful spirit means he is still learning, so he would greatly benefit from a structured environment where he can channel his energy into positive activities.
Casper is looking for a home where he can receive love, attention, and direction. He would do best with an owner who is willing to invest time in his training and development, helping him become the well-rounded companion he is destined to be. Whether it's going for walks, playing fetch, or practicing his obedience skills, Casper is eager to bond and share adventures with his new family.
If you're searching for a playful and affectionate friend to join your family, Casper may be the perfect match for you! Come meet this sweet boy and discover the joy he can bring to your life! Your new adventure awaits with Casper by your side! Casper's adoption fee has been sponsored by a generous donor.

More about this shelter
Dogwood Animal Shelter is a non-profit, no-kill shelter.
Since its infancy, compassionate, like-minded volunteers have been the driving force behind Dogwood Animal Shelter. Through auctions and sales, a handful of dedicated people raised enough money to build its first, albeit small facility and was established as a 501(c) 3 in 1976. It was filled beyond capacity almost immediately.
The shelter is funded entirely from donations and proceeds from their Dogwood Animal Shelter Thrift Store.
After years of saving, planning and busting at the seams with fur-babies, in 2005 it was time to build a new facility with their own in-house clinic! Under the direction of Dr. John Reinhold and coupled with a very dedicated and gifted team of Veterinarians and staff, Dogwood Animal Shelter continues to offer low cost spays and neuters to the public as well as services to their shelter buddies; services to approximately 2,000 dogs and cats yearly!
Dogwood Animal Shelter began their journey of being a successful no-kill shelter in 1997, and since then has saved over 40,000 lives!
