My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Miles!
At 25 pounds and 2 years old, this sweet girl is a bundle of enthusiasm wrapped up in the perfect medium-sized package. She’s the best of both worlds: she loves slow, cozy mornings, enjoys active days filled with walks and adventure, and is always ready to end the evening with couch snuggles.

Miles is incredibly friendly with both people and dogs. She greets everyone like a friend and spreads joy wherever she goes. She’s fully potty trained (with a bladder of steel!), crate trained, walks nicely on leash, and takes treats ever so gently. Car rides? No problem—she’s a perfect passenger. When it’s playtime, tug-of-war is her absolute favorite, and she gives it her all! She does well with older kids but may be a bit too enthusiastic for little ones.

Miles thrives on routine and consistency. She’s been working with a trainer and comes with plenty of helpful tips to continue her progress, especially around putting on her harness and managing the occasional mischievous moment. As a Schnauzer/Cattle Dog/Chihuahua mix, she’s naturally curious and clever, with strong instincts to sniff, explore, problem-solve, and “dissect” her toys. She’ll do best with an adopter who appreciates her smart, driven nature and can provide regular enrichment and exercise.

What Miles Needs to Thrive:
- Daily Exercise: At least two 20+ minute walks, hikes, or runs per day, with plenty of time for sniffing and exploring. She would also love extra running or playtime in a fenced yard or park, she needs a chance to sprint!
- Daily Enrichment: Independent activities like puzzle toys, treat scavenger hunts, meals in a Kong, and safe chewing outlets. She also benefits from dedicated interactive play such as tug-of-war or games that simulate stalking and hunting (like using a flirt pole).

To be her very best self, Miles needs a steady, confident leader who uses positive reinforcement and provides structure, guidance, and plenty of love. In return, she’ll give you endless affection, loyalty, and joyful energy every single day.

Additional adoption info

Please visit www.hopeanimals.org/adopt to learn more about our adoption process and to complete an adoption application.

Adoption Fee includes spay/neuter*, microchipping, up-to-date vaccinations, and current heartworm and flea/tick preventatives.

*If pet is not old enough to be spayed or neutered prior to adoption, a $50.00 credit will be paid to your vet at the time of surgery.

We require a veterinary reference for current pet owners, and pets must be up to date on vaccines and heartworm preventative.
