Meet Salem – The Bashful Boy with a Big Heart Waiting to Shine <3

Salem is a shy little guy with a soft spirit, but there’s a curious and playful kitten just waiting to come out of his shell. While he prefers to hang back and observe the world from a cozy hidey spot, Salem can’t resist joining in when his brothers, Vinny and Grey, start to play. His absolute favorite? A tunnel toy where he can dash, hide, and pop out like a little surprise.

Salem will need a patient, cat-savvy adopter who’s willing to go slow and let trust build over time. But once you’ve earned it, you’ll be rewarded with a sweet, gentle friend who’s all heart.

He’s comfortable around respectful dogs and older, calm children. Most importantly, Salem must go to a home with another young cat—ideally one who’s friendly and confident—to help him feel safe and show him the ropes. With the right kitty companion and a loving human, Salem has all the potential to blossom.

Their adoption process

1.
Submit Application

We accept applications online and in person at events. Applications are accepted on a first-come basis.

2.
Meet the Pet

We require an in-person meeting with potential adopters and one of our adoption specialists. All members of the family should be present.

3.
Interview

Interviews can be conducted via email or in person and may happen before, after or during the in-person meeting with the pet.

4.
Home Check

Home checks may be completed at the discretion of the interviewing adoption specialist.

Approve Application

A follow-up contact will be made by an adoption specialist 1-3 days post-adoption and again at 10-14 days.

We are an all volunteer staffed rescue. Typical response times are less than 12 hours; however, please allow up to 72 hours for a response.
