My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Shelby, a German Shorthaired Pointer mix with a wonderful blend of playful energy and laid-back charm. She loves romping and wrestling with her dog friends, but she’s just as happy spending her downtime stretched out on the couch. Shelby is housetrained with a dog door, knows her basic commands, and has a goofy sense of humor that keeps everyone smiling.

Shelby is friendly and happy to meet new people, and she enjoys being part of the action once she’s settled in. She thrives in a home with other dogs to play with and keep her company, and she’ll need a securely fenced yard with at least a 6’ fence so she can safely burn off energy and enjoy outdoor time. Shelby needs a home without cats, birds, or livestock, but she’d be a great match for a family with a playful older kid who enjoys an active, fun-loving dog.

If you’re looking for a sweet, silly, loyal companion who loves dog friends, outdoor play, and cozy couch time, Shelby might be your perfect match.

Submit Application

You may complete an application via our website at http://www.humanetomorrow.org/adopt/.

Additional adoption info

All potential adopters must fill out an application for the animal they want to adopt, which is available on our website. Humane Tomorrow does not do adoptions outside of the DFW Metroplex.

Our adoption fees are...
Cats:
$150 for most kittens and cats

Dogs:
$250-$300 for most puppies and dogs

The adoption fee helps to cover the costs of basic preventative care including spay or neuter, vaccines (including Rabies and virals), heartworm tests and preventative for dogs, FeLV/FIV tests for cats, in addition to extra medical care the animal may need, such as heartworm treatment, dental, or surgery. Often our adoption fees do not even cover costs for basic medical care the animals need, and are certainly cheaper than if all these procedures were covered by the owner.

Humane Tomorrow reserves the right to deny any application for any reason.

More about this rescue

Humane Tomorrow is a non-profit 501(c), all volunteer organization dedicated to the rescue and placement of unwanted and abused animals in Flower Mound and the surrounding areas. We are also committed to spay/neuter assistance and education to companion animal guardians.

We do not have a shelter, so all animals in our program are placed in temporary foster homes until permanent homes can be found.
