This helps Lucky’s Cat House with pet care costs.
Dave has been with us since July 2023, which makes him our longest-term cat still waiting for a forever home. He deserves his happily-ever-after!
Dave was adopted once before but returned in April 2024 when his adopters noticed some neurological quirks — things like a “bobble head,” being a bit twitchy, and occasional litter box struggles. After a thorough evaluation at BluePearl, including bloodwork and urinalysis, the vets believe his challenges are neurological and likely something he was born with. His mom, Dottie, sadly passed from a brain infection, and it’s possible Dave was exposed in utero. None of his littermates have shown symptoms, and this condition is not transmissible nor progressive.
Since being back with us, Dave hasn’t had any litter box issues. It’s very likely his previous struggles were environmental rather than medical.
Personality & Habits
Dave would much rather curl up in your lap than be carried around. He loves pets, head rubs, and even gives little kisses when he’s happy. He can be talkative and a little twitchy, but that’s just part of his charm.
Dave has the most gorgeous green eyes that will absolutely melt your heart.
His favorite toy is the laser pointer, but he’ll also happily chase after flies if one sneaks into the room.
He is all about Temptations treats — they’re the way to his heart!
Dave does fine with calm, laid-back cats but needs time to adjust. He would not do well with rowdy pets or loud, busy households.
He would be best in a patient, quiet home with no small children. Once settled, he climbs cat trees, gets the zoomies, and will happily curl up nearby.
Dave lives in our adult free-roam adoption room, so you can come spend time with him in person.
Stop by Saturday or Sunday between 12:00–4:00 p.m. and see if he’s the cat you’ve been waiting for.
Dave may be a little different, but that just makes him special. After more than a year in our care, he’s ready for a family that will love him just as he is.
