My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Charlotte! I am a beautiful girl inside and out. I came first to APA in 2024, was adopted, and then I was returned in October 2025 because my family was going through a hard time. APA brought me back here ALL the way from Kansas!!
I am now attending the PAWS prison program where I will learn new skills. I am a sweet, social gal, and I know I will find my furever home next time around.

More about this shelter

We are a progressive animal welfare group in Dona Ana County. We run an adoption center, the local pet food bank, a prison dog training program, and a thrift store. We rescue most of our animals from the municipal shelter and then ready them for adoption.
