He’s great with cats.
He just wants a couch, a rope toy, and a permanent address.
He’s ready to be the best thing that ever happened to your house.
Carmel is such a gorgeous dog who loves life and deserves a wonderful forever home. Everyone who meets him just adores him. He loves to play, and would be a good companion for an active family, He enjoys his toys, especially Rope toys and balls. We even think he would be so good at agility. He has NO toy or food aggression.
He is 1 1/2 yr old, 50 lbs., neutered and up to date on vaccines, Very Affectionate, Playful and Friendly to everyone. His DNA test said he was a Gr. Pyr mix, Housebroken, Crate trained, and is healthy.
He needs a secure yard, (5 ft + fencing) He would do best with dog savoy kids.
Carmel has gone through a board and train, learning how to be the best dog. He has learned to Place and relax, listen well, redirect when there is distractions, and to walk well on leash. Training sessions will be included in his adoption.

Additional adoption info
We require an adoption application to be filled out, once approved we set a meet and greet with the whole family. We also do a home visit which provides an opportunity for the adopter to see the dog in their new environment, and allows us to review recommendations for a smooth transition for the dog and family. We then set up a Foster to Adopt for up to 2 wks, so the adopter can make sure it is a good match for both the dog and family.
Our adoption fees range from $150.00 for dogs 9 years and older, $250.00 for dogs up to 8 years old.
All adopted dogs are spayed/neutered, have appropriate vaccinations, and microchip identification. They are also tested for Heartworm and Lymes and on preventatives.
Those adopting pets from the West Jersey Volunteers for Animals are required to:
*Provide a loving home for the animal during its lifetime.
*Treat the animal with respect, affection and as a member of the family.
*Provide indoor living accommodations.
*Provide annual veterinary examinations and treat any ailments, disease or injury in a timely manner.
*Provide the animal with proper food, water, and training.
*Provide appropriate exercise, toys, companionship, mental stimulation and socialization with other animals.
*Keep identification tags on the animal at all times.

More about this rescue
West Jersey Volunteers for Animals (WJVA) is a non-profit group formed in 1998 by four volunteers determined to improve quality of life and medical care for homeless animals. We do not have a facility and rely on foster homes for the dogs we rescue from crowded shelters. Our adoption fees and donations are used to pay for our medical expenses. We spend thousands of dollars every year on saving homeless animals.
Our group is all volunteers with years of experience providing homeless animals with love, exercise, medical care, foster homes, training, and socialization. During the past 20 years, our group gained a great deal of wonderful contacts and support in the areas of general animal care, veterinary care, pet grooming and boarding, training, resolution of pet behavior problems, food donations, and fundraising. We are dedicated to continue to build our community partnerships to carry on our work on behalf of homeless animals.
