Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Red is a big, lovable boy with a soft soul and a deep love for cuddles. Once he warms up, his affectionate and loyal nature truly shines. Red thrives on attention from his people and would love nothing more than to be your personal snuggle buddy.
He’s great with older children (16+), showing incredible patience and gentleness. Red cannot be in a home with cats or small dogs due to his prey drive and past interactions. He has a bite history with cats that will need to be discussed with any future adopter to ensure everyone’s safety and the best possible match.
Red has excellent house manners—he doesn’t rush the door, doesn’t jump up, and doesn’t get into things he’s not supposed to. With proper guidance, structure, and understanding, Red has the potential to be an amazing companion who will spend his life as your shadow.
If you’re looking for a sweet, goofy, and cuddly dog who just needs the right home to thrive, Red might be the perfect fit for you!
All CSHS pups are spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, 4DX negative (if older than 6 months), dewormed and microchipped.

While we are a foster-based animal rescue and all of our dogs are in foster care, we do have a cat adoption space at our new Adoption & Wellness Center in Chaska. We also partner with local retail locations like PetSmart Richfield and Chuck & Don's Chanhassen to feature adoptable cats at their stores.

More about this rescue
Carver-Scott Humane Society was founded in 1989 with the mission of connecting animals in need with people who care. Our vision is a world where every animal is safe, cared for, and loved.
In 2017, we introduced a new, innovative rescue philosophy based on our Four Pillars: TNR, Serve Where You Save, FurKeeps, and Adopters Welcome. As of 2018, we adopt over 500 dogs and cats into the community every year, with a nationally reported Live Release Rate of 97%. We serve over 1,000 Minnesota pets and their families annually through our surrender prevention program, FurKeeps, aiming to keep pets out of the shelter system in the first place.
CSHS focuses on serving and saving Minnesota pets, and we do not transport animals in from out of state. We do our best to prevent surrender, which creates capacity for us to transfer most of our animals from high-volume impounds and shelters throughout the state. For the past three years, we have transferred more animals from Minneapolis Animal Care & Control than any other animal welfare organization.
