Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Foster Cat`s Name: Prickly Pear

My Foster`s Ideal Home Would Have (a few words or one sentence): Space to call her own, patience with her while she becomes familiar with her new hom
Good with cats?: Yes, but takes time
Good with dogs?: Unknown
Good with children?: Yes, but only older/quiet
Would this kitty enjoy an animal companion?: Yes
Temperament: Independent
Ideal type of household?: Low activity
How long will it take kitty to settle into a new environment?: A few months
Foster cat`s bio for their adoption profile: You may remember sweet little Peyote from last fall, well this is his momma! Prickly Pear came in at the same time, but was so shutdown and terrified that posting her just wasn`t appropriate. Well how things have changed since October and now it`s time to start searching for her forever family!
Although she is still shy and reserved, each day is bringing surprises! Miss Pear now actively seeks pets from me, even before breakfast is served!! The resident cats do make her nervous, but then wouldn`t you get uncomfortable when someone stares at you until you finish eating??? I know that she would enjoy a friend or two, but it will take time for her to adjust to any home setting. Patience is going to be the way to this girl`s heart, could that be you?
Miss Pear is nervous of men, but each day gets better. Trust is hard for this one, how we wish we could know her full story. Miss Pear is really so sweet and just needs the right family to find her. Time will be needed for her to become comfortable, and a quiet home would probably be the ideal place. If you`ve read this far, maybe this sweet girl is the one for you???
Any special needs or traits the adopter should know about? (we may add this to the bio): Nervous/shy with men

More about this rescue
Since 1996 SCAT Street Cat Rescue's prime focus has been feral cats because of the limited options available for them. TNR is a successful option instead of the traditional trap and kill. The majority of the cats rescued by SCAT, however, are socialized and available for adoption. As the city grows, so to does the need for our services. Adopt, Donate, Volunteer, TODAY!
