My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*Andy’s adoption fee has been sponsored thanks to a generous donor*

Hi! My name is Andy! My favorite things are hanging out with my foster dog siblings and cuddling on the couch with them or my people. I have plenty of puppy-playfulness in me; I love wrestling and chasing my ball. I am great at playing with toys all by myself or with other dogs and love lick mats, bones and stuffed toys. Anything that squeaks is totally my jam! You might think as a teenager, I’d be nonstop energy, but I also enjoy some lazy couch time and don’t mind a chill evening.

My foster mom says I am super smart and would do well with learning new tricks. I already know sit, touch, and watch me. I’m learning to walk on a leash and have started crate training. I sleep in my crate all night without making a sound, but I don’t like the door being closed because I get nervous.

I am shy when meeting new people, but do better when another dog friend is there to show me how great people can be, especially when they have treats! It takes me a few days to warm-up to people and feel safe, but once I do, I’m the absolute sweetest snuggler.

One other thing you should know about me is that I have an auto-immune disease, Canine dermatomyositis (DMS), that requires daily medication. It’s what caused the scars on my face, but now that it’s controlled it doesn’t affect me much. I live a normal puppy life doing puppy things and take my meds like a champ!

I hope you and your dog will be interested in a handsome guy like me. I look forward to meeting you soon!

All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption.

Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions. If they came to our rescue as an owner surrender, the breed description will be listed as provided by the previous owner.

More about this rescue

The mission of Warrior Dog Rescue is to save the dogs that are homeless, left abandoned in shelters, are surrendered by their owners, those that are being abused and neglected, and those that are left wandering. We are committed to providing them the medical care they need, helping them to overcome their past by providing them loving, educated foster homes, finding them their perfect forever home by means of a thorough adoption process, and guiding them on their journey into their new life. They all deserve a “good dog life… every single one of them.”

Warrior Dog Rescue will be a model rescue by partnering with overcrowded shelters that need to make room for more abandoned dogs. We will continue to educate others about responsible dog ownership in regards to safety, spay/neuter, nutrition, obedience, socializing, abuse, and neglect. We acknowledge that we will have a role in this industry to take the lead on providing awareness to others in the community and across the country. Every dog will know what it feels like to be loved till the end of their life.
