Meet Jonathan – The Sweet and Sensitive Companion Ready for His Forever Home
Looking for a loyal friend to sit by your side while you work from home or motivate you to stick to your New Year’s resolution of getting outside more? Jonathan might just be the perfect match for you! This sweet and sensitive boy is ready to find his forever home with someone who will appreciate his gentle nature.
Jonathan can be a bit shy and shut down in the shelter, but he’s been on several Doggy Day Out Adventures and has done wonderfully! During these outings, he’s encountered wild turkeys, deer, and even a neighborhood cat—each time, he acknowledged their presence and then returned his attention to his human, showing how focused and well-behaved he can be. While Jonathan is a bit nervous around loud noises (including the TV), he’s proven that, with the right person, he can feel secure and confident in new situations.
Because of his initial shyness and fear of loud noises, we believe Jonathan would thrive in an adult-only home where he can take things at his own pace. With patience and love, he will become an incredibly loyal and loving companion who just wants to be there for you.
If you’re ready to give Jonathan the time and space he needs to settle in, he will reward you with his deep affection and devotion. Come meet Jonathan today—he’s waiting for someone to help him feel safe and loved.

More about this shelter
For over 40 years, SafeHaven Humane Society has worked to help our communities’ residents be the best humane beings they can be by providing compassionate temporary shelter care; healthy adoptable animals; information, understanding and education; and population control through spay and neuter programs, instead of euthanasia.
Mission
Finding Homes…Opening Hearts….Educating Minds to strengthen and improve the lives of animals and people.
Vision
We envision a community where every adoptable, treatable companion animal has a loving home and where every loving home has the opportunity to care for a companion animal.
Values
We are guided by the belief that no adoptable or treatable companion animal should be unnecessarily euthanized due to space, time, appearance or treatable conditions.
We are committed to:
* Giving a new chance to companion animals who would otherwise be discarded.
* Strengthening the humane animal bond through education.
* Helping people and their companion animals stay together through the support of programs and services.
* Leading responsibly with compassion.
