More about this shelter

The Humane Society of Monroe County (HSMC) was founded in 1954 by Monroe County residents who were concerned for the welfare of the companion animals in our community. We care for dogs and cats until they are found permanent adoptive homes or reunited with an owner. We are funded by donations from the community, corporations and foundations and are a 501c3, we DO NOT receive any funding from any other Humane Society.
