My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Flossie, and I came in with 5 other friends from a rough start but I have a heart full of love just waiting to blossom. I'm a two-year-old kitty who has overcome a tough start in life-I was rescued from a hoarding situation, but I'm now on a journey of transformation, and I can't wait to find a loving home!

Despite my past, I'm learning to trust and embrace the brighter side of life. Like the sunshine in the Heartland catio! You would normally find me laying in there - it was my favorite napping spot. I was lucky to find a nice foster home shortly after the catio closed for the season. Here is what her foster family has to say about me:

"Flossie is a VERY curious young lady. There are few things she loves more than exploring. Any time there is something new around her, she is right there to examine it. She is a quiet, strong spirited cat- because of her background she is more reserved, but she refuses to be excluded. Any time a person or animal is making noise/doing something around her, she sneaks over to see what the commotion is and be a part of it from a safe distance. She is very easygoing, fits in well, and continues to open up."

I've discovered the joy of cozy blankets, gentle pets, and sunny spots to nap in. I adore soft words and quiet moments, and with a little patience, I'll show you just how loving a shy cat can be. I live for a Churro, and will accept gentle pets if you feed me one.

I can be slow to warm up but when it's quiet, I love to come on up and visit. I will do great in a home where I can be the queen.

Flossie is spayed, up-to-date on her FVRCP and rabies vaccinations, FIV and FeLV negative.

She is currently staying in a lovely foster home. Email cats@heartlandanimalshelter.org to set up a time to meet them!
