My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Chickpea!

Chickpea is a 4-year-old cat with a story, a sparkle of sass, and a whole lot of heart. She has been with Al-Van for over a year, patiently waiting for the right person to appreciate her big personality and independent spirit.

When Chickpea first arrived, she had already been through more than most. An old injury to one of her front legs meant it needed to be removed, and she was also heartworm positive. Since then, she has completed two rounds of heartworm treatment and proven that having three legs has not slowed her down one bit. Chickpea is resilient, confident, and fully aware that she is the main character. This girl has opinions and she is not shy about them. Chickpea enjoys attention on her terms and will loudly let you know when it is time for head scratchies. Churu treats are a guaranteed way to her heart, and once you are in her good graces, she is an absolute joy to be around.

Chickpea would prefer to be the only cat in the home so she can soak up all the attention, but she does well with dogs and can coexist comfortably with canine companions. She is looking for a home that respects her independence, appreciates her sass, and is ready to love a cat who has overcome a lot and come out stronger.

If you are searching for a one-of-a-kind companion with confidence, charm, and a little attitude (okay, maybe a lot of attitude), Chickpea might just be your perfect match. Submit an adoption survey at al-van.org/adopt!
