My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

***Prime's adoption fee has been sponsored***

Does your life need a transformation? Are you in need of more joy, more fun, more cuddles, and more fetch? Well, luckily for you, Optimus Prime is available for adoption!

At eight years young, Prime has none of those annoying puppy habits. He’s house-trained, doing well with crate-training, and knows how to settle. That doesn’t mean this guy isn’t fun though -- in fact, we are pretty sure Prime found the fountain of youth! He will play for hours if you’ll indulge him, and fetch is his favorite game. He’s also happy to entertain himself with a chew toy or two while you’re busy.

Prime makes an excellent adventure buddy, regardless of your speed or style of life. He is a dream on car rides and is great and adaptable on leash, doing well in the noisy city and in quieter areas. Everywhere is a good place to sniff, after all! Prime makes a great companion and is extremely eager to please. Learning new tricks and skills is his jam, especially when he earns a "Good boy!" and a treat.

At night, Prime’s favorite place to be is under the covers with you, though he’ll happily snooze in his dog bed or in his crate if you prefer. He’s an excellent cuddler and a very affectionate dog. If you adopt Prime, he’ll reward you mannnyyyyy kisses furever.

Prime became a Perfectly Paired Pittie after ending up on a euthanasia list at the DC shelter at no fault of his own, and he’s ready for a fresh start from his rough past. He could do well in a forever home with other dogs, if given a slow intro (he has a history of being attacked by another dog twice, so he requires time -- we'll give you tips!). We also think he could do well in a home with cats if given a proper introduction. Prime might do best in a home without younger kids due to their unpredictable natures.

As Prime’s foster said, this dog is “a treasure and will provide endless love to his forever family.” Could that be you? Apply today to adopt him!

More about this rescue

P3 is a united rescue effort to both save pitties and support veterans. At P3 we LOVE Pitties & we LOVE & RESPECT our Veterans! 2800 Pitties & Pittie Mixes are euthanized in overcrowded shelters every day, over 1 million every year. 22 Veterans commit suicide every day, over 8,030 per year. At P3 we find these numbers UNACCEPTABLE! P3 was created in March of 2024 with the goal of rescuing Pit Bulls and Pit Bull mixes from overcrowded shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia and providing the necessary training for them to provide emotional support, nightmare alerts, and pressure therapy during episodes of anxiety and stress so they can be paired with a Veteran struggling with PTSD reducing the risk of Veteran suicide. While we support our Veterans, our rescue is not limited to the placement of service dogs for Veterans only. Our Veterans program is only one aspect of what we do. We want to help EVERY pittie find the perfect furever family!
