Meet Aslan

Quiet, Cautious, and Looking for a Safe Haven

Aslan’s story begins in an unlikely place — an abandoned property where a group of stray cats had made shelter in a garage. Most of the cats kept their distance, but one soft, buff-colored boy did something different: he walked up to a human without fear. That small gesture of trust likely saved his life.

The woman who had seen him before knew something wasn’t right. His willingness to approach her — unusual for a stray — made her worry he might be sick or in trouble. She gently picked him up and brought him to PRBJ, where her instincts were confirmed: Aslan was covered in fleas, and they were taking a toll on his health.

On the Road to Recovery

After a flea bath, a full belly, and some much-needed TLC, Aslan began to improve. Though his body was healing, his spirit remained cautious. He’s still shy around people and takes a long time to feel safe in new environments. But under that quiet exterior is a cat who has already shown the capacity to trust — and who may just surprise you with quiet moments of connection when you least expect it.

About Aslan

Aslan is not your typical cuddly companion. He’s an introvert at heart — a cat who wants to coexist peacefully rather than be the center of attention. He’s perfect for a calm, quiet household where he can feel safe, be himself, and not be pressured into constant interaction.

His Ideal Home

  • A patient, understanding owner who is content to let Aslan set the pace.
  • A quiet environment, without children or high energy.
  • Someone who appreciates the quiet companionship of a cat who may not seek affection often, but whose presence adds peace and beauty to the home.

Why Aslan?

For those who understand that love can be quiet and companionship doesn’t always mean cuddles, Aslan is a perfect match. He’s the kind of cat who will quietly follow you from room to room, perch in a sunny window, and simply be with you — no expectations, no demands.

Ready to Give a Gentle Soul a Second Chance?

Aslan is neutered, vaccinated, and ready for a home where he can feel safe, respected, and loved in his own way. If you believe that some of the best bonds are built slowly, Aslan might just be the one for you.

Apply to adopt Aslan and become the calm, steady presence this brave little survivor is waiting for.

More about this rescue

We are a private, non-profit rescue located in Sanford, Florida, dedicated to the rescue cats and dogs. Many of them come to us with medical needs. They are doctored to the best of our ability and resources.

Our most urgent goal is to rescue animals that are abandoned or in distress, update their vaccines, and find good new homes for them. But we attempt to be more proactive than that. It is our heartfelt desire to prevent any animal from the need to be "rescued." With that vision in mind, we take a three-prong approach through the education of pet owners and the general public about:
- proper care of animals, including correct diet of good quality food, fresh clean water, daily exercise, and lots of love
- spaying and neutering companion animals (dogs and cats) in order to prevent euthanasia and over-population
- low-cost spay/neuter clinics and wellness centers in their local community
