Cake is an adorable little mouse who loves exploring his habitat and running on his wheel! When he's feeling particularly adventurous, you might find him scaling his water bottle or digging new tunnels between his hideouts.
A FREE CritterTrail carrier is included with this adoption.

Personality: Curious, Energetic, Funny, Nervous, Quiet, Very shy (you are unable to touch this animal without it running away or being fearful, etc)
Favorite treats: Dried fruit
Current Diet: Oxbow Essentials Mouse & Young Rat Food
Favorite toys and activities: making burrows and running on his wheel
Potty trained: Haven't tried
This animal’s daily routine: He tends to sleep all morning, get active mid-afternoon for a run and some hydration, and then be active again in the evening running on his wheel.
BFF (Does this animal have or need a friend of the same species in their home?): No, this animal prefers to live alone.
Other species this pet has been exposed to and reaction: Cats (through the bin) - indifferent
Has this animal been exposed to children? What was their reaction? None
Health concerns: None
Behavioral concerns: Cake is extremely skittish and doesn't enjoy physical contact with humans. As soon as you open his bin, you can expect him to run and hide. But as long as the bin stays closed, he will say hi to you through the walls!
Note from Cake's foster: Cake is fun to watch as he runs on his wheel and burrows new tunnels throughout his cage! He is not quite sure about humans yet, however, so he will prefer a family that will allow him his independence and put in the slow work to build trust with him.

Due to our rescue being foster-based, not all foster homes are located in Saint Paul, MN. This animal's foster parent prefers to meet at the Roseville PetSmart - 2480 Fairview Ave N, Roseville, MN 55113 for meet & greets, & adoptions.

MN Pocket Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) organization primarily serving the Twin Cities Metro Area, focusing on education and public outreach. Our intent is to keep all animals in their homes, with their families, whenever possible. We are committed to rescuing those pocket pets that are in jeopardy of being euthanized or are in danger of being abused, left unattended or in other types of vulnerable situations. We ensure all animals receive proper veterinary care, medication and special training for any behavioral issues, as well as to arrange safe, temporary homes for these animals until stable forever homes can be found. Our team is made up of enthusiastic volunteers who work passionately to serve the underrepresented and often misunderstood niche of pocket pets in the overall rescue community and general public.
