Underneath his striking eyes and working-dog drive is a sweet, playful, loyal boy who just wants to feel safe and loved.

Once Dexter knows you, his playful spirit shines. He lives for fetch, loves zooming around with his doggy friends, and lights up during one-on-one time with his person. He’s incredibly smart and would thrive in a home that understands the needs of his breed: exercise, structure, enrichment, and patience.

Dexter also has a softer side. After the games are over, he’s a total cuddlebug who just wants to snuggle up and feel secure. His past wasn’t easy — we don’t know all the details, but it’s clear he’s been let down before. Because of this, he can be protective of his space and belongings. He needs a home that will respect that, and help him feel confident that no one will take what’s his ever again.
