My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gumbo is a young, strikingly handsome hound with a heart full of love. While he can be a bit nervous in new places or around unfamiliar sounds, his gentle nature always shines through. With a calm environment and a little reassurance, he quickly warms up and shows just how affectionate he can be.

He’s been great with other dogs and truly enjoys the company of people. Gumbo hasn’t had much experience in a home setting, but he’s eager to learn what it means to be a beloved family pet. He’s a big guy, but very trainable—especially since he’s food motivated and eager to please.

If you’re looking for a loyal companion who just needs a little guidance and a lot of love, Gumbo might be your perfect match. He’s ready to learn, grow, and become part of a family.

More about this shelter

Hallie Hill provides sanctuary for abandoned, abused, or neglected animals- a home with food, medical care, shelter, and love. We have many animals who have been considered a little less adoptable by others because of age or lack of socialization. There are many incredible animals at the sanctuary regardless of their past.
