Hi. This is Zumma. He is a 1.5-year-old Shepherd mix. This love bug and a little bit of sass is looking for his forever home. He is very smart and loves to love his humans. He'll give you the best kisses. He is very food-motivated, and has some tricks up his paw like sitting, leaving it alone, twirling, laying down, shaking-a-paw, and we are working on gentle lol. He's good with small dogs and needs a very slow intro to bigger ones. This is due to his past. We are unsure how he is with cats, as I don’t think he's ever been near one.
We think he has an allergy to chicken, so you must be aware of that. He's neutered and house-trained. He is most comfortable in his kennel when you are away from him. He loves to go for walks, and he enjoys it when we go to empty outdoor rinks or ball diamonds and runs to his heart's content. Good recall but would be cautious depending on the situation. He can be reactive to other dogs, but I've found he's likely to do it more when his big foster brother Bohdi gets him riled.
He is more hesitant of men but he has come a long way being with us and the boys. This comes from his earlier life and is understandable. This bundle of love and licks will love being your bestie and has so much potential. He def knows his name! He has no veterinary concerns other than his allergy. He's great in the bath, rides in a car well and, although he’s scared of some people to start, he has never shown aggression towards anyone in any circumstances.

More about this rescue
We are a registered charitable NO KILL Rescue, located in Regina, SK, Canada dedicated to helping dogs that have fallen on hard times (homeless, abandoned and in some cases, surrendered). With the help of dedicated volunteer foster families, our dogs live as part of the family while they are in foster care right up until they move in with their new family. We strive to help with the over-population of pets by making sure each and every puppy*, adolescent and adult dog is spayed/neutered. (*Note: sterilization of puppies is the owner's responsibility and proof of sterilization must be shown at 6 months of age.)
