Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Are you not sure whether you want an athletic, playful teenage dog, who's smart and loves to learn tricks, or a cuddly, shy puppy who just wants to stand close to you and be comforted? Why not both? Petey is the complete package. After a rough start in life where he was found by animal control, skinny, shaking, and scared, Petey is now the happiest boy in a foster home with another dog.
Petey loves to go for walks and sniff around, and he meets new humans of all ages with a gentle sniff and wag. Best of all? Petey has never met another dog he doesn't like. Whether they're old or young, boy or girl, small or tall, chihuahua or Great Dane, Petey loves other dogs and has a fantastic ability to make friends. He'll gladly romp, wrestle, and run with another energetic, playful dog, but if a dog is calm and cool or old and fragile he'll tone it down and match that dog's energy. Yet despite his love for other dogs, Petey walks beautifully on leash even when other dogs are everywhere! Petey is attentive to his human and responsive to cues.
Petey is a young tyke so he is still working on remaining calm in the house, but he is very treat motivated and eager to learn. He sleeps through the night and is happy going in his crate when his mom has to go out, but he sure does love to cuddle. Petey would be the perfect addition to an active family!
ADOPTION DISCLAIMER: At Perfectly Paired Pitties (P3), we aim to provide accurate information about all of our animals to the best of our abilities. That said, we cannot guarantee that any dog is housebroken or crate trained and cannot promise any specifics regarding an animal's breed, size, health, behavior, temperament, or other conditions. Our adoption fee does not fully cover all vetting, medical care, food, supplies, or training costs. As we depend on donations to provide for the animals in our care, we are unable to reduce or refund the adoption fee. Out of area adopters (outside of DC, MD, VA and PA) will be considered on a case by case basis and will be required to come to the foster location for an in-person meet-and-greet. Our rescue is not able to provide out of state transport.
TO DONATE: Please visit our website at www.https://perfectlypairedpitties.org/Donate/ to make a donation. Your contribution will help Perfectly Paired Pitties (P3) continue providing essential medical treatment and training for our dogs.

More about this rescue
P3 is a united rescue effort to both save pitties and support veterans. At P3 we LOVE Pitties & we LOVE & RESPECT our Veterans! 2800 Pitties & Pittie Mixes are euthanized in overcrowded shelters every day, over 1 million every year. 22 Veterans commit suicide every day, over 8,030 per year. At P3 we find these numbers UNACCEPTABLE! P3 was created in March of 2024 with the goal of rescuing Pit Bulls and Pit Bull mixes from overcrowded shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia and providing the necessary training for them to provide emotional support, nightmare alerts, and pressure therapy during episodes of anxiety and stress so they can be paired with a Veteran struggling with PTSD reducing the risk of Veteran suicide. While we support our Veterans, our rescue is not limited to the placement of service dogs for Veterans only. Our Veterans program is only one aspect of what we do. We want to help EVERY pittie find the perfect furever family!
