My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Peaches (aka “Mama/Mamas”)
1 year old | Female
Peaches is a very special lady with a gentle heart and a quiet strength. 💗
She doesn’t actually know the name Peaches—she’s always been called Mama or Mamas, and she happily responds to that.
She came into foster care as a very skinny, extremely skittish young mom who had clearly had a rough start. Despite that, she was a wonderful, devoted mother, and all of her babies quickly found their forever homes. Mama, however, has taken a little longer—and that’s perfectly okay.
With lots of patience and letting her move at her own pace, she has truly blossomed. She’s discovered that she enjoys affection more than she fears it, and now she seeks out love and face scritches (her absolute favorite!). She no longer darts away when someone stands up or enters the room, and hearing her tiny meow for the first time was a huge milestone. She also has a lovely purr motor once she’s comfortable.
Mama does best in a calm, quiet home with someone who understands that trust takes time. She’s great with laid-back cats and has even been very patient with kitten fosters. She’s currently on a bit of a diet after sneaking kitten food (she’s not fat—just fluffy 😉).
She is not a fan of being picked up or carried, and when she’s scared, she simply runs and hides. She has never hissed, swatted, or bitten out of fear. Lately, she’s even become a little adorably demanding for affection—if you take too long, she may give a very gentle, careful nip as if to say, “Excuse me… I require love now, please and thank you.” ☺️
Mama deserves a home of her very own, with people who will spoil her, respect her boundaries, and give her the time she needs to settle in. For the right person, she will be an incredibly rewarding companion—and she is so very worth it. 💗
