Meet Shayla – Your Ride-or-Die, One-and-Only Kind of Girl
Looking for a best friend who will love you unconditionally, shadow your every move, and sneak in kisses while you’re just trying to tie your shoes? Say hello to Shayla—60 pounds of shepherd-mix devotion, affection, and low-key comedy.
Shayla is a young adult with a heart as big as her goofy grin. She’s beautiful, smart, and full of love… but she’s very clear about one thing: she wants to be your one and only. Other dogs? Meh. She’s not here for their drama—especially the little ones with Napoleon complexes. Shayla would thrive as the center of your universe, soaking up all your love, your snacks, and ideally, your side of the bed.
With people, though? She’s a total superstar. Shayla hasn’t met a human she didn’t adore. Her affection is instant and unwavering—she’ll follow you from room to room, tail wagging and eyes locked in loyal admiration. She’s the type of pup who makes you feel like the most important person on Earth every time you walk through the door (even if you were only gone for 30 seconds).
She’s a true Velcro dog, happiest when she’s right next to you—on the couch, in the kitchen, or just hanging out while you work. Shayla lives for companionship and cuddles, and she gives both generously, with enthusiastic tail wags and full-body wiggles.
Shayla is also whip-smart and eager to please. She’s already mastered her basic commands and would love to keep learning, especially if training comes with cookies and praise. She’s playful without being over-the-top, and she’s always up for a walk, a sniffari in the yard, or a game of toy toss.
In short, Shayla is the total package for someone looking for a loyal, affectionate, hilarious, and low-maintenance best friend—as long as she gets to be the one and only furry love of your life.
So if your ideal dog is one who’ll stick to you like glue, cheer you on with tail wags, and make every day feel a little brighter just by being by your side—Shayla’s been waiting for you.
Come meet her and get ready to fall hard. She's not here to share your heart—she's here to claim it.

More about this rescue
Hope Ranch Animal Sanctuary is a non-profit organization; obtained our 501(c)3 in 2011 - ID #27-0810495
Located in Anza, CA
Kathy Haley had originally started as a rescue for abused and neglected large animals such as donkeys, llamas, alpacas, pigs, and more. At the time, she was also a volunteer at a dog rescue. After learning about the importance of rescue work, Kathy saw an opportunity to help by employing her own ideas about animal welfare, rescue and care taking the "whole animal," mind, body and spirit into consideration. A few years later, she met Lisa Ashe. Kathy and Lisa had so many ideas, dreams, and goals in common. They instantly clicked and that was when Hope Ranch Animal Sanctuary, a non-profit organization, was born in 2011 and have been going strong since.
At Hope Ranch Animal Sanctuary, we are dedicated to taking in abused, neglected, and euthanasia listed animals that deserve a second chance and need us the most.
All of our animals are:
Spayed/Neutered
Current on all vaccines
Rabies Vaccinated
Dewormed
Micro-chipped (lifetime registered & paid)
Received all proper medical care when needed (surgeries, dentals, medications, grooming, etc)
While many of our animals are sanctuary or "permanent residents", we do have lots of adoptable pets who are patiently waiting for their forever homes.
We are unique in the fact that our dogs do not live in kennels; instead they live with us in our home on about 5 acres of property located in Anza, CA or they are in foster homes in and around the Temecula, CA area. They have full access to our home and property and sleep inside with us at night.
This ensures that our pets are well adjusted and perfectly suited to become a part of your family.
Because the sanctuary is also our home, we do not have regular public visiting hours but we do have many visitors.
We just have to arrange it to fit the schedule of our animals, ourselves, and you.
