Gunner is 10 years old, which in dog years makes him… old enough to know better but young enough to still act like a goofball.
Despite his advanced age (which he prefers to call "distinguished and well-seasoned"), Gunner still has the enthusiasm of a pup—especially when it comes to toys. This guy loves his toys, neatly arranging them in one area as if he's curating a museum exhibit titled "The Art of Squeaky Things."
Gunner is good with other dogs, tolerates cats, and, frankly, has more manners than most people. He’s got that perfect balance of playfulness and wisdom, like a grandpa who still hits the gym but also tells the best stories.
Gunner has a voice so deep and soulful he could land a record deal. If you’ve ever wanted a dog who sounds like Barry White after a long night out, Gunner’s got you covered.
So, if you need a distinguished, deep-voiced, toy-hoarding best friend who will judge your organizational skills while singing the song of his people, Gunner is your guy.

More about this rescue
We are a volunteer-run, 501(c)3 foster-based rescue, which means we do not have a central building. Our rescue registration number with the State of NY is RR131. For logistical reasons, all of our foster homes are in Lewis and Jefferson Counties. If there is an animal you are interested in meeting, we ask you to first fill out the adoption application, which can be found in the main menu. You do not need to live in Lewis or Jefferson county to adopt; we do adopt out of state (and to Canada as well!)
