Here's what the humans have to say about me:
💌 A Letter From Ashley 💌
Looking for my forever heart…
Hi there… it’s me, Ashley.
I know I look like a big, strong girl — and I am — but inside, I’m really just a soft heart who loves deeply and attaches even deeper. 💗
I haven’t had the easiest journey. I was adopted by a wonderful person who loved me so much… but when they passed away, I didn’t understand why my world changed again. I just knew I had to come back here and start over. And that’s okay — because I still believe my forever family is out there. Someone who needs a loyal soul just as much as I need them.
I’m the kind of dog who chooses my person with my whole heart.
When I love you… I love you.
I’ll follow you, sit beside you, watch over you, and make sure you always feel safe.
I don’t want a big life — just a connected one. One where we understand each other, one where we grow together.
I try so hard to be brave, and I’m learning every day that I don’t have to protect the world… just love the people in mine. If you’re patient, steady, and the kind of human who likes a dog who bonds deeply, I think you’ll find that I’m one of the most loyal girl you’ll ever meet.
I’m still young, I’m gentle, I’m sensitive, and I’m so ready to belong.
I just need someone who sees my heart and wants to keep it safe… the same way I’ll keep yours. 🫶
If you think you might be my person,
I’m here — waiting with my whole heart ready.
Love,
Ashley

More about this shelter
A not-for-profit organization, Monroe County Friends of Animals help the County by raising funds to build a new facility for our animals. It is called the Eastbourne Animal Center and has now replaced the old Monroe County Animal Shelter. They provide volunteers, fundraising events, grant writing and more. There is always a need for more volunteers. With a small budget, donations are a welcome necessity. We have developed educational programs to promote spay/neuter and humane care of all animals.
