My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Molly – Waiting Since November 2022. After years in the shelter, Molly has been patiently waiting for her forever home since Nov 2022. This sweet, middle-aged girl is ready to finally find her person.

Once she warms up, Molly becomes your little shadow—loyal, loving, and always nearby. She thrives in a structured home where she knows what to expect. Confident and strong-willed, Molly needs to be the only dog in the home, but in return, she’ll give you all of her love. She’s potty trained, kennel trained, and sleeps soundly at night. She enjoys toys, treats, and her daily walks—which are the highlight of her day. Despite being mellow and independent, she’s also playful and cuddly when invited onto the couch.

Molly did have a suspicious growth diagnosed as malignant skin cancer, likely caused by sun exposure. She’ll need to wear a sun shirt when outside, but the good news is her recent X-rays show it hasn’t spread. If you’re an experienced dog person looking for a loyal companion—full of love, ready for adventures, and happiest curled up beside you—Molly might just be your girl.

She is located in Southern California

Additional adoption info

All of our animals come fully vaccinated and spayed or neutered (if old enough), and microchipped. Puppies and kittens will be spayed/neutered and have all shots when they are old enough. There is an Adoption application, a quick phone interview to make sure it is a good fit, a meet and greet with the dog, then a home check, and an adoption contract. We ask for a $400 donation for adult dogs, and $500 for puppies at the time of adoption so that we can save other dogs from the shelter. The first step is to fill out an app here: https://thelittlereddog.org/dog-adoption-forms

More about this rescue

The Little Red Dog (TLRD) passionately transforms canine lives through holistic rehabilitation, education, and community outreach. Since 2011, the mission for our nonprofit has been clear: rescue, educate, find homes, and assist the people in our community who are in need. By advocating for comprehensive behavioral understanding, and assistance to the community, we strive to reduce animal cruelty, and the number of animals being surrendered to the shelter, thereby eradicating euthanasia and fostering a world where humans and dogs thrive together, and all humans and animals are free from discrimination. Through our efforts, we address both immediate needs and underlying issues. We envision a world where every dog, regardless of its past, has a loving future, and where canines and humans always feel included and appreciated. We are on a mission from dog!
