Dog's Name: French Fry (FRE0125JNSMD)
Estimated Breed: Lab / Golden Retriever MIX
Approximate Age: 4 years
Approximate Weight: 45 lbs
Currently Living at: Foster
Adoption Fee: $400
DOG'S DESCRIPTION: Meet French Fry, a charming adult dog whose personality is as delightful as his name.
French Fry would thrive as the only dog in the home. While he can coexist with another dog, he doesn’t need canine companionship and may actually be happiest soaking up all the attention for himself. A quiet, adult-only home is important for him, as he does best without the energy of children. He does not need someone home all day—French Fry handles being left alone very well and has done fine for 8 hours at a time, both with and without another dog present. When you are home, though, he’s a true lap buddy who wants to be close to his person.French Fry is the perfect match for a homebody or someone who doesn’t want a dog that requires daily walks. He isn’t interested in walks and would do best in a home with a yard where he can feel safe and secure. He’s perfectly content to spend the day sleeping on the bed, patiently waiting for you to come home or finish whatever you’re doing. He will need a patient adopter who understands that confidence comes with time. French Fry becomes very comfortable and confident once he settles into his home, but new environments—especially outside the house—can be overwhelming at first. Giving him the space and time to adjust will allow his true personality to shine. He’s great at entertaining himself and loves toys he can toss and chew. If no one is around to play fetch, he’ll happily throw the toy for himself. He also knows basic manners, including coming when called and sitting politely while waiting for a treat.French Fry is a sweet, loyal companion looking for a calm home where he can be someone’s favorite shadow—and their most devoted couch buddy.
Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.
Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.
