My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

INDEPENDENT RABBIT SEEKS LIKE-MINDED HUMAN

My name is Hope, and I am a biter.

I am not a vicious bunny, I am cute and cheerful and love to binky and do zoomies. I just really, really do not like to be touched, and if a human hand invades my personal space I mght bite it. In fact, the pet store where I was dumped was going to sell me for snake food if someone didn't come and rescue me because everyone kept sticking their hands in my little tiny cage and I showed my displeasure.

Now that we have that out of the way, let me tell you a little bit about myself. My love language is food. I very much enjoy and appreciate food: hay, greens, rabbit-friendly treats, you name it. If you enter my room with food I will binky with joy and give you a few grunts if you don't have enough! See, this is how I communicate with my foster mom. She has learned to look but not touch. Besides being cute I am also smart. I’m curious, love to roam and explore, and I think I might like clicker training should you be interested in this activity. If not, that’s okay too. I have been around dogs and cats in my foster situation and they don’t bother me. I am also very tidy with my litter box.

My ideal human: someone who would like company, but not a pet that demands a lot of attention. I am the opposite of clingy. If you are a self-sufficient human seeking a self-sufficient animal companion, let’s talk!

We adopt to indoor homes only! If you are interested in adopting a bunny from Orlando Rabbit Care and Adoptions, or would like more information on rabbit care, please visit our website at: http://www.orlandorabbit.org. The first step in our adoption process is to complete an adoption application, which can be found here: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/55856/generic . Then one of our volunteers will reach out to you via email to schedule a time to speak with you. If you don’t see the email in a day or two, please check your spam folder!

Our Adoption Fee/Donation for a single rabbit is $100, a pair is $170, and a triple is $200. This helps to offset the cost of having the rabbits altered, microchipped and vaccinated, as well as any medical care that may have been required.

Additional adoption info

For those that want to bond a new rabbit with an existing rabbit, we conduct bonding events where the home rabbit can meet several rabbits to find a potential match. We work with the adopting family to help ensure that the rabbits bond. We take back the adoptive rabbit if there is not a match.

Our adoption agreement specifies that we will take any adopted rabbit back, should the home situation change in the future.

Go meet their pets

We are a foster-based rescue where our available animals are kept in private homes.

You can see our rabbits online, then make an appointment to meet the rabbit(s) you select.

From time-to-time, we conduct adoption events where you can meet multiple rabbits. Because of RHDV2, these events have been paused.

More about this rescue

We are a rescue and educational group dedicated to the health, care and enjoyment of house rabbits. We believe that pet rabbits are family members and should be housed indoors, should be fed a healthy diet, should be spayed or neutered, and should receive quality medical care. Our organization strives to provide bunny parents with information to help them care for their rabbit.
