Hello! My name is Duke Too, I am a beagle mix, and at almost 2 years old, I’m chock-full of energy. I’d make a great companion for an avid walker, hiker, or runner, or an active family with children. I am good with kids of all ages, and I love to sit and be petted by them. A home with a fenced-in yard where I can burn off excess energy by running and playing would be ideal. I like going on car rides and know how to walk on a leash, so going places together would be fun with me!
For the most part, I know I am supposed to go potty outside, and I will go to the door and let my foster parents know. I have only had a few accidents in the house. I am good in the crate and go into it at night without any issues. I do like to talk in the morning to let everyone know it is time to go out, so I wouldn’t do the best in an apartment or condo. Also, I do like to try to go through the door first, so my foster mom is working with me on my manners.
I really love my foster family's children, being with my human family, giving kisses, and receiving lots of attention is one of my favorite things! I love to run! I get the zoomies regularly and race around the house trying to get someone to chase me! I love playing fetch and I am happy to return the ball as long as you are willing to throw it. I am quick to learn, I have already learned how to “sit” and what “leave it” means. When my foster mom works at home, I love to curl up near her and take a nap. I love to be outside and guard the yard from birds, bunnies and squirrels, so I would love a nice big fenced yard of my own to run and play. I am not a big fan of cats, so a home with no kitties is best for me.
I am so excited to find my forever family. I have so much love to give! If you think you have my perfect home, my foster mom would love to talk to you. Thank you!
NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).
