My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Emelia is a playful black and white low-rider Staffordshire Terrier that is 40lbs of cuteness. She is full of energy and love. This girl enjoys playing with rope toys and she can nearly fly when she jumps up for her toys. Emelia would thrive in an active home and dreams of a fenced yard to do zoomies. Emelia is extremely treat motivated and loves to learn, plus she is very goofy. She is the loudest snorer in the kennel, which is adorable to hear and watch her sleep! She needs a slow introduction to other dogs, but is her playful, silly self once she trusts them. Emelia is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and ready to be your best friend. To adopt Emelia Please fill out an application at www.abandonedpetrescue.org
She is waiting to be your best friend at Abandoned Pet Rescue - a no-kill shelter in Fort Lauderdale. To meet this adoptable pet, please fill out an adoption application at www.abandonedpetrescue.org and a team member will contact you to schedule an appointment.

More about this shelter

Abandoned Pet Rescue (APR) is one of the largest no-kill animal shelters in South Florida with the mission of rescuing and sheltering abandoned and abused cats and dogs with the goal of finding them new homes. APR's adoption center has about 150 cats and 30 dogs, all of which receive nutritious meals, veterinary care, enrichment and love.

APR, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was founded in 1996 by a group of volunteers who were trapping, spaying and neutering feral cats and quickly realized the greater need to help abandoned pets and advocate for a no-kill community. APR is funded solely by generous donors and grants.
