My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Frida is a masterpiece in her own right, and with this clever girl by your side, everything takes on a more vibrant, colorful palate. Just like her namesake, the artist Frida Kahlo, this pup is an independent soul. Frida is a go-getter who is looking for a partner who shares her adventurous spirit. Her love of exploration means shes always up for a hike, a car ride or any new journey you can dream up. Shes a smarty who has already mastered the basic cues and is eager to keep learning with you.

While Frida may not be able to join you at the VMFA exhibit, shes ready to settle into her own personal exhibition in an adoptive home. And she does have one artistic demand: shes looking for a solo show. If you have an adult-only home without other pets, shes prepared to be the one and only pièce de résistance in your life. Come meet this brilliant girl!

If youre interested in meeting Frida or want to learn more about her, stop by our adoption center or call us at 804-521-1307. Our friends at the VMFA have generously sponsored her adoption.

Frida is also looking for a foster home! If you are interested in fostering Frida, please register to foster at www.richmondspca.org/foster and email our foster care team at foster@richmondspca.org!

Their adoption process

1.

Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

We have daily adoption hours (please check our website for holiday changes), and no appointment is required.

2.

Meet the Pet

Walk through the dog and cat adoption areas, and when a pet tugs on your heart strings, we encourage you to speak with an adoption counselor

3.

Submit Application

Tell us about your expectations, wishes and members of your household on our one-page adopter survey.

4.

Interview

Less an "interview" more "conversation." Your adoption counselor will use your adopter survey as a guide and review the pet's file.

5.

Sign Adoption Contract

You'll be asked to show a government-issued photo identification and proof of your address.

6.

Pay Fee

Check out in our Lora Robins Gift shop where essential supplies for your new companion are available for purchase.

You'll take your new companion home the same day. Expert behavior support is available by calling 804-643-7722.
