My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Even though she is less than 2 years old, Oreo has been through so much in her life. When she first arrived, she was emaciated and shut-down after being abandoned in a home where she had to forage to survive. With lots of TLC from our staff and volunteers, she’s slowly learned that people can be kind and that the world isn’t such a scary place after all.
Oreo isn`t the kind of dog who will rush up to you with wiggles and kisses on day one. She needs someone willing to take their time - visiting her more than once at the shelter so she can get to know you in her own way. But once you are part of Oreo`s circle, you are truly in for life.

Oreo tends to feel most comfortable with women, though she’s also made several wonderful male friends here at the shelter as well. She loves going for walks and chilling in the yard. She also enjoys an active play date with a male dog who will match her energy level.

Her perfect home is a lower-traffic one with a family that will be patient with her as she continues to grow in confidence and enjoy the simple comforts she’s waited so long for.

If you think that Oreo might be a good fit for your home, please submit an application and we will coordinate a meet and greet for you.
