🌿 Nature is Her Happy Place
Chika adores the outdoors. Whether she’s lounging in the grass, sniffing the breeze, watching squirrels with laser focus, or supervising your yard work with quiet dedication, she truly shines when she’s outside. After spending nearly a year in a Texas foster home where she lived outdoors, it’s no wonder that sunshine and fresh air are her happy place. She absolutely LOVES to lay around outside.
🩺 A Resilient Girl with a Bright Future
Chika recently had hip surgery and is healing well! She would love a home that can support her continued recovery with comfy dog beds and peaceful time outdoors. She at times experiences some wobbliness in her hind legs, but that doesn't slow her down at all! She is still able to go up and down stairs, run around the yard, and play with dog friends!

My adoption appointment includes a discussion with our Training Team, and I will go home with my very own no pull-harness and a few enrichment goodies to help get us off to a good start. Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (6 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.

Current programming such as our Adoption Program, Military Veterans’ Program, and Healing Paws Pet Therapy Program create positive, impactful connections between people and animals, improving the lives of both. Future programs will be offered in partnership with human-service organizations throughout our community, maximizing impact and changing lives for the better.
