Here's what the humans have to say about me:
You know that awkward phase every kid goes through, probably age 10 or 11? They are clumsy and not sure what to do with their limbs. They still feel very much like a little kid but it’s clear that they’re right on the edge of puberty. They still want to cuddle and be mommy’s little baby, but they also want to push the boundaries a little and see what the future holds.
That is Linus.
He is still very much a puppy with a squeaky high bark, big clunky paws that land with a clomp wherever they may fall, and he doesn’t know why a Nylabone is okay to chew but not the kid’s new Legos. They taste the same! It’s probably because of this puppy-brain-in-a-dog’s-body behavior that he was dumped and ended up in the shelter. In fact, we suspect he was tossed from a moving car because he arrived with a broken foot and a case of road rash. The first time we tried to get him to take a ride with us, he made it very clear that he did NOT want to get in the car.
Surprisingly, he’s still very trusting of humans. His favorite place to be is on someone’s lap, even if his lanky body hangs mostly off of it. He would do about anything for a treat or a scratch behind the ear. In his foster home he’s remarkably never had a potty accident. He’s a good dog well on his way to becoming a great dog; if only those who dumped him put in just a little bit of effort and had a little patience, they would have been blessed with a sweet, loyal companion for years to come. But now, some other lucky family gets him, and we’re determined to find him a good one. If you’re interested in Linus, fill out an adoption application. He’s still healing and healing beautifully, but once he’s ready, we’d love to have his forever family lined up to take him home.
Linus is 8-10 months old, and about 40 pounds.
