Hi there… I’m Rugar, a 5-year-old Shepherd boy with a strong name and an even bigger heart. 🐾

I made my way to Big Dog Ranch Rescue all the way from South Carolina, and while I may not talk about my past much, I’m ready to focus on my future — hopefully with you.

I’m the kind of guy who carries himself with quiet confidence. I’ve got that classic shepherd loyalty — once you’re my person, I’m your person. I love being near my humans, whether that’s going for a nice walk, riding in the car, or just relaxing by your side after a long day. I’m past the wild puppy phase, so you get the best part of me: mature, steady, and ready to be your dependable companion.

I’m smart (it’s a shepherd thing 😉), eager to learn, and I appreciate structure and routine. Give me clear guidance and a little patience, and I’ll show you just how amazing I can be. I bond deeply and love with my whole heart.

What I’m really looking for is a home where I can feel safe, understood, and part of the family. A yard to stretch my legs would be great, but most important is someone who sees the loyal soul behind these handsome shepherd eyes.

I’ve traveled from South Carolina for a second chance. Maybe that second chance is with you. 💙

If you are interested in adopting a dog from us please visit the ranch. Our website adoptions page has all of our availalbe dogs and our adoption application at www.bdrr.org/adopt. This will help us make sure we find you the right dog to fit your situation and family. You are welcomed to come to the ranch seven days a week or you can make an appointment with our adoption desk. Our adoption fees range depending on the dog's breed, age and other factors.
