My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Joy!

Joy is a 12 year old, 40 pound mixed breed spayed female (short coat).  Joy was adopted 7 years ago and she immediately became part of the family. Unfortunately, due to life changes, Joy is no longer able to stay in her home.

Joy is a total pack-animal and loves to be around her people, so she loved that her people worked from home.  She was always the center of attention. Joy's favorite thing in the world is to curl up on the couch or in a bed, preferably nestled in a cozy blanket or two (bonus points if she can be in the sun). Joy has slowed down a bit as she has gotten older, but she still has plenty of energy to go on walks and explore our neighborhood (she typically gets two walks a day). Joy does like longer hikes/adventures as well, but less frequently as riding in the car is not her favorite thing in the world. Joy is very food-motivated and loves to put on a good performance for a treat. She knows sit / down / shake / spin (she will also do "roll-over" but only if the treat is particularly tasty).

Unfortunately, as Joy aged she developed some anxiety, which has been exacerbated by having a young toddler in the home. The situation has resulted in a lot of stress for both Joy and her family. It is best for everyone to find a loving home for Joy without young children or other pets so that she can be more relaxed and secure on a day-to-day basis.

Joy is vaccinated, chipped and spayed. Her adoption fee is $150

We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life!
