After 8 years of living outside in a feral colony, Onyx has finally been brought inside to live out her days enjoying the spoils of being a house cat. She was in pretty rough shape when we first got her, braving a nasty head wound and so skinny we could feel all her ribs. But after a few short months she’s transformed into the beautiful kitty she is today. She does fall back on old habits tending to be a bit skittish and running off to hide, but she’s shown us that she can be just as brave as she is nervous. She’s a curious girl who loves to sit and watch you from afar while you go about your day. She’s very vocal around her meal times but will reward you and thank you with letting you give her some good head scritches.
Although Onyx has some catching up to do, she’s quickly learned what it means to be a house cat. This includes yelling when her food isn’t put into her bowl fast enough and pretending like she’s never been fed a meal in her life. Her favorite activities include judgemental staring from a distance, sitting in the kitchen to watch you cook, and picking the best spot on the couch to nap. It may take a while for her to warm up, but every bit of progress she makes and you make together will make it all that more rewarding.
